Liz Low washes a highfired glaze over softly thrown porcelain to evoke the ripples and waves of moving water. The fluidity and tactility of these vessels is a response to the plasticity and translucency of the porcelain itself.
The asymmetric rims and bodies of these functional pieces encourage arrangement in pairs or groups.
Liz Low is a 2002 RMIT Bachelor of Arts (Fine Art) Honours graduate. She is a 2001 undergraduate winner of an RMIT Siemens Fine Art Travelling Scholarship and will visit Japan and Europe to research contemporary artists
working in porcelain.
