Although greatly admiring the work of traditional potters, I looked for a new direction in order to create my own style. Inspired by my former colleagues at Potwork Orange, I was seduced by colour and now paint on clay before glazing and firing.
I do not aim to make social or political statements but like creating sculptural pieces which are both useful and fun and hopefully, bring joy.
I make birdbaths, mythical birds, candleholders, and domestic ware decorated with caricatures of animals and flowers. I enjoy scavenging for scrap metal for "feathered" additions for the sculptures.
