Churinga Clayworks

The Churinga Clayworks studio was established in 1996, and began with a group of artists producing slip cast earthenware forms. As the artists moved into hand painting techniques using colour and vivid imagery, strong individual styles have emerged. They are currently creating imaginative sculptures and freely painted functional ware, which explore the recurring themes of dwellings, animals and human figures. The process is enjoyed as much as the product!

Churinga Clayworks is a supportive studio, which encourages personal expression, imagination and the individuality of practising artists with different abilities.

Sales are through a variety of outlets, regular exhibitions or from Churinga directly by phoning.
